The book mainly includes the following studies:
-Ancestor worship-European worship (Προγονοπληξία και ευρωπληξία)?
- Europeanization- a matter of autognosis/ self-knowledge. The Neohellenic Revival and the European consciousness of the Modern Thought.
Both studies deal with the scholars’ endeavour to appeal to the European knowledge after the lasting isolation during the Ottoman rule. An endeavour of self-knowledge which led to the European convergence.
